Hi all I am hoping someone can help with the above named family--AlexanderWeatherhead was born in Tweedmouth Northumberland, England OASTprobably around 1810. This date is taken from a small autobiography called "Leaves From My Life" written in 1892. He lived and died in Nangutta NSW-his date of death was 4/4/1901 and is buried in Nangutta cemetery. I am hoping that there may be a family member of his here who has done research on the English/Scottish side of his family--I am descended from the Tweedmouth Weatherheads and have hit a brick wall in 1812 which was the birthdate of Adam Weatherhead,my ancestor. In his book, Alexander describes returning to England in 1886 and visiting,among other places, Middlesbrough which is where my family moved too from Tweedmouth. Unfortunately the book doesn't give any names (of anyone,not even his own wife to whom he was married 50 years--very frustrating!). He also describes visiting family in Eyemouth, just over the border in Scotland--I have a lot of research done for this branch but can't link it with my family but I suspect that this man is the one to do it Any help out there?
