Dear Listers Could any advise the type of farming that was been carried out in the Figtree area during 1835-1855, what crops were grown, andy dairy farms or cattle, etc. please. Have found a little on Wollongon Library online but would like to know more if possible. Kind regards Joanne

Hi Joanne, Long time since we have been in touch. Trust you and Ron are fine. Dairy farming was the main persuit regarding farming in the District at that time. However, most small holdings ran just about everything that would sustain the property holders. Many properties were 100 acres, about the sise of an 18 hole golf course in "our money"! :) What family names / properties are you looking for Joanne?
