Leith, Norman W. Clarke wrote a book last year "Kiandra - Gold Fields to Ski Fields" ISBN 0-646-46337-3. I looked in the index but there is no Davis listed. However he may have come across something during his research on this book. I am afraid I no longer have his address but he is from Sydney so maybe you might have some luck looking up the white pages for a Norman W. Clarke in the Sydney region. Thanks for your help, I will try that. I know that when Gwen Dundon wrote her book on shipbuilding in Brisbane Water, she couldn't find any documented evidence that the Davis brothers were ever in Kiandra, even though the family was full of the stories that they made their stake there, so I'm not very hopeful. I guess they had to stake claims, though.
