The returns for this area are not the full documents but the abstracts. Hopefully this will tell you if John and or Sarah were exconvicts. They do not appear to have made a request for permission to marry via the Governor so neither had a TOL or still serving sentence at the time of the marriage. You can order a copy of the Census document from the website but I am not sure of the cost.
