He worked as a Farmer at Mount Wayo, Woodhouselee, New South Wales, Australia in 1903 (Electoral Roll). John married Mary Ann Bartlett in 1862 in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia. Mary died in 1908 in Woodhouselee, New South Wales, Australia. They had nine children: John R, Beatrice, Sarah Agnes, Alice Keziah Elizabeth, Martha Jane, Charles Augustus, Ernest John, Sydney Preston, and Edith May. Edith married William George Coggan, son of William Coggan and Susan Eliza Gray, on 22 Dec 1915 in St Stephens, Crookwell, New South Wales, Australia. William was born in 1874 in Pejar, New South Wales, Australia and died on 16 Mar 1949 in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia at age 75. PIERCY, JOHN, 1929/23902 died, ALBERT, 92 YRS GOULBURN. Other researchers have indicated that his father was Augustus Piercey, a London artist. I have tracked Augustus down in the 1841, 1851, and the 1881-1901 census returns for England and there is no mention of a son named John, but that doesn't mean that he didn't have one - perhaps he had his children shipped off to some private school as soon as they were old enough, or perhaps John was an illegitimate son. Augustus seems to have moved his family around a fair bit - in 1841 they are in North Leeds, Yorkshire. He had a daughter, Anna, born c 1838 in Middlesex, a son, Richard, born in Edinburgh c. 1840, a son, William, born in Yorkshire c. 1842, James born in Islington in 1845, and Augustus born Westminster c 1850. I have not been able to find him in 1861 or 1871 - perhaps he was even out of the country. Anyway, I hope this helps. Regards Robyn
