Hi Jan, It is interesting that you have posted about a Marshall family as I have just replied to the post from John Graham about a possible connection with my Allen family and his Marshalls. My Allens have a connection to the Harding family of Toolijooa near Gerringong, and as I understand it were at one stage at Crawley's Forest which is just to the north west of Omega Retreat which John mentioned. I have either a marriage or birth registration (can't remember off the top of my head), which mentions a Mrs Allen of Crawleys Forest area for the early 1850's. I am really interested as to who this Mrs Allen is, as I think she is connected to my Benjamin Allen. I also have a marriage certificate for possibly the same Benjamin Allen which has a witness of either Gay or Guy (difficult to read), which was in 1830 in Kent England. The Hardings came from the Edenbridge area of Kent. Hope we can work something out. Hello Warren, Thanks for your interest. "My" Elizabeth Gay, was born at Crawleys Forest, near Kiama, 1857 according to her birth registration, and her parents were Matthew Gay, and Margaret unknown, both born Ireland. It seems unlikely we have a connection, but stranger things have turned up in the past. I believe we should just keep the info in the back of our minds.
