Col thats an interesting thing you have asked for with the photos, can you give some of us a brief lesson on how to do this please. I have photos that get grainy when enlarged and I would like to get close ups too to recognise the ppl in the photos...regards dee > Please in a high resolution, say 600dpi, so I can zoom in on individuals. > I will do my best to identify them for you, but a few LOVELOCK's went to > NZ.
Hi Deirdre When you scan photos into your computer there should be a selection for the resolution. This is usually described as DPI or dots per inch. 100dpi will give a resolution that is about the same size as the original picture on your computer screen. So when you try & enlarge it just gets grainy. If you select 300dpi you can enlarge it about 3 times the original & start to see more detail. So if you go to 400 - 600 dpi you can get some real detail of the individual people. Some people don't like to scan this big as it takes up more computer space & it takes longer to send & receive by email. But I would prefer the detail, then waste computer space with something that is hard to see detail :-) You will probably have to go to the advanced section of your scanners settings when you start to do this, but it is not difficult to enter.
