On Saturday 7th July a plaque to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the death of John Mernagh will be unveiled in Braidwood Cemetery. This plaque is being placed on the headstone of Elizabeth Canvin, daughter of John Mernagh and will be unveiled at 2pm. This will be followed by a presentation on the life of John Mernagh in the CWA rooms in Braidwood. John Mernagh was one of Michael Dwyers gang in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland, and self exiled to Botany Bay on board the "Tellicherry" in 1805.
