    3. Hello! In searching through the 7 January 1911 issue of the Ulladulla and Milton Times [NSW], I located this gem! Thought I would share it with you. "Mr. W. L. Garrard, of Kings School (Parramatta) who has been appointed to the Townsville Grammar School, proposes to walk to his job. He will take the coast track, probably striking up to Grafton from Newscastle, thence through Lismore and on to Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads". I wonder did he have any idea how far Townsville, N. Qld. was from the Queensland / NSW border!!!! Just goes to show how incomprehensible some of the distances between towns in our far wide brown land must have been for some New Chums.
