I am directed by His Excellency The Governor, to inform you that instead of working until 2 o'clock, as the men ordered, the convicts on Saturday last left their work and began to assemble at one o'clock for the purpose of marching to dinner at two. In order therefore to prevent this in future, you will be pleased to cause the bell at Hyde Park Barrack to be rung on Saturdays exactly at two o'clock. Inform the several overseers that the men are to continue at work until that hour- and give directions that their dinner may not be prepared until half past two. F. A. Hely Esq
