    3. Hello everyone This is just to explain the {not a subscriber} messages. RootsWeb have closed all mailing lists which means that only subscribers can post messages. If a non-subscriber posts a message to a list it will be sent only to the list owner with {not a subscriber} prepended to the subject line. This allows the list owner to decided if the message is suitable for the list. Usually these are genuine messages often coming from new subscribers who have posted a message before their subscription has been activated. The list owner can then forward the message to the list, which I have done a couple of times recently. As well as {not a subscriber} in the subject line, the following will appear at the top of such a message: -------- Original Message -------- Subject: {not a subscriber} Blow family Date: Mon, 25 Jan 1999 00:25:32 -0800 (PST) From: "joe blow" <jblow@wind.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-SE-L@rootsweb.com> This is the tricky bit. If you want to contact the person who has posted a message such as I have just described, you will have to either type the address in the "From" line, or cut and paste it, into the 'to address' of your mail program. If you just hit 'reply' it will come back to me. I will forward messages to the intended person, but it would be easier and quicker if you addressed them directly yourselves. This is probably as clear as mud, so if you have any questions just ask!
