It all sounds a bit suspicious to me. I found there is a Burragorang fern but cannot find a reference to a Burrawang fern. Hello Sue There is/was a Burrawang fern and it gave its name to the Southern Highlands town. My Macquarie Dictionary refers to, "any native, palm-like plant of the genus Macrozamia, esp. M.spiralis, having nuts which were once a part of Aboriginal diet". They were very plentiful in the Burrawang/Robertson/Kangaroo Valley areas in the early days. Perhaps the fern was only dangerous to white fellas <g> Cheers Max Carrick www.Geocities.com/Heartland/Prairie/3341
