I would look to another source of the name. The Smith's of Nowra and Tomerong after arriving on the "Brothers" in 1841 first settled at Jamberoo, I believe that they were on a property owned by the Patterson's who hired arriving settlers to clear land. I have not researched the details but I ran across these references at the Mitchell when following up on John Alexander's Smith's(John & Eliza Smith of Violet Bank Nowra) letters to my father in 1941. The William Smith's then moved to Bolong and Tomerong, and the John Smith's to Nowra.
