    3. Carolyn, >Can anyone help me identify a Mr Wilmott who worked for. or had dealings >with the Snowy Mountain Scheme in the 1920-1930s? >Any help greatly appreciated. I have a large family of WILLMOTTs, but don't know of any of them working on the Snowy. I am also fairly sure that it wasn't called the Snowy Scheme at that time. Have a look at the SMA website for some details, particularly http://www.snowyhydro.com.au/corpinfo/fscheme.html which suggests it actually began as the Snowy Mountains scheme in 1948. However, I am sure there would have been some sort of works being carried out down there prior to WWII, even if not under the control of the SMA. From memory, Burrunjuck Dam was built well before the war and that stores water from the Snowy Mountains.
