I did contact Ken direct but I notice in his thank you, he has purchased the book "Camden". Is this Alan Atkinson's book? This is a brilliant local history study using many court records as references. However, be aware that the index is incomplete. There are some 300 people mentioned in the text that are not in the index. As a member of the Society of Indexers, I found that publishers often only allow a certain number of pages for an index and if the index is being done by a professional indexer other than the author, they just reduce the index to fit the allotted pages. They would not be aware of how vitally important it is to family and local historians to have a complete index. All researchers should be aware of this as it happens regularly. That is why when I am putting a book like this into my specialist index of the Picton/Camden/ Campbelltown area, I completely redo the index. I believe this is worse than a book having no index as one can miss something vital. At least if there is no index one can read the whole book and find it. Off my soap box.
