This network is a fabulous idea and it sounds like it's already paying off. I am trying to find out about William Wilson and Mary Ann Gray. I know that William's parents were David Wilson and Isabella Meldrum, that he arrived in Australia in 1852, and that he was a teacher at Foxground. William and Mary Ann were married in 1856. Any other information or contacts from other people researching this family would be of great assistance. Tim Wilson sacraliscious

Cathy and other listers, Dr. Robert Havens was practising medicine at Reidsdale in 1842, as there is an account of his for seeing John Coghill's convicts amongst Coghill's papers. There was also a daughter named Mary Jane born on 10 May 1850 to Dr. Robert Havens and Esther Lee. Christine Wright Braidwood NSW

My main priorities when deciding on a scanner were 1. One pass - quicker, and I'm not a patient person 2 the highest resolution for the money..... particularly for scanning maps and tiny photographs, these can be enlarged while still retaining detail (great for trying to identify my ggrandfather among a group of drovers) I scanned a badly damaged photograph from around 1910... very high resolution, and saw from the scan, the names of my grandmother & her sister, had once been written in pencil, and the indentations remained. I hadn't noticed on the original. 3 Large scanning area.... most are A4 size, and I find original certificates are longer / wider than that .... and I'm not good at joining scanned images. Anything else can be adjusted with good software (eg paintshop). My scanner is about 3 years old and was $400... an Artec A6000C+ (SCSI Connection) I've been very happy with it Regards Peita chilly in Belrose, NSW
Hi List-dwellers I notice in the statement of purpose for the SE NSW list that boundaries touch Goulburn, Picton, etc., but that included areas might perhaps be flexible. I for one would hope that the Hume Highway corridor down to at least Gundagai could be included as I had most of my original DOMINICK ancestors settle around Coolac and Gundagai, but some moved back to around Goulburn (and just to make things difficult, all over NSW as well <g>). Anyone have an opinion? cheers Patrick -- Patrick Dominick Canberra, ACT, Australia Researching DOMINICK, MCGREGOR, CASSIDY, PARSONS, KEMP, QUIRK, in NSW 1840-1918
