Hello Sandra. Here are details from the "Index to the Death Registers 1856-1918 Held at Eden Courthouse", published by the Bega Valley Genealogy Society: P.O. Box 19: Pambula, NSW 2549. They say that they can provide more details at $2 per name. No. Surname Given Name Death Date Place 319 DONNELLY Arthur 27 Nov 1911 Eden 320 " Catherine 26 Aug 1889 Donnellys Selection: Womboyn 321 " James Augustus 23 Feb 1904 Eden 322 " Joseph 25 Mar 1899 Eden 323 " Mary 8 Aug 1908 Nethercote 324 " William 23 Aug 1889 Donnellys Selection: Womboyn 325 " William John 21 Aug 1894 Pambula I also checked their "Monumental Inscriptions in the Bega Valley Shire: Book 2" which has Eden cemetery transcriptions. Sadly there are NO entries indexed for DONNELLY (or similar alternative spellings). However this same volume does show a headstone for the above James Augustus at KIAH Cemetery: Aged 64 years. Also in the same volune at Wyndham Cemetery, there is an Alice DONNELLY: died 9 Aug 1895, aged 19 years. The Index to their "Bega Valley Pioneer Register: Pre-Federation" lists only the following for DONNELLY (no alternative spellings listed): Lavinia (nee LAVELLE); Charles Mallen Francis; Dorothy I.M.; Ethel; Gilbert T / Gilbert Thomas; James / James Augustine; Lavinia Gwendoline. Hoping that some of this will be helpful to you. Cheers: ray in sydney ----- Original Message ----- From: "sandra armstrong" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> ... deaths registered in Eden for both these names 1889. Is there anyone on this list with these names in their family? Also there are deaths registered in Eden for both these names 1889. Is there some really kind person who could provide further information via a cemetery listing or the like? thanks in advance Sandra in Maryborough Qld
Robyn Enquiries show she was not buried in Braidwood as far as we know. There is also a cemetery at Gundillion which is just short of Krawarree. It is being organised for records at present and I will find out if there is a record there. In 1852 the gold started as far as we can tell and the Snowball hwich is souht of Krawarree was alive as was Araluen. She may be bruied at Araluen if they went to Krawarree from Araluen. I have ridden from Krawarree to Araluen over land and it is a days ride. I will try to find out more for you. There were many unmarked graves and it might be difficult but we will try. Am researching one Elsie Johnson nee Schoenfeld. Died at or near Ulladulla in about 1959. I can find her marriage details, but her arrival in, or birth in Australia, I can find no record of. Also her death details are a mystery to me. I am new to geaneology research so any advice or knowledge would be extremely appreciated. Thanks, Cassie.
