    3. Hello Vicki. A quick first recourse would be to the British PRO's information. Here is a snip from another list about it: ".. British army records are in the Public Record Office in Kew London. Not all the records are indexed. Their catalogue is on line at http://catalogue.pro.gov.uk Type your ancestor's name and limit the search to say 1780-1850 or whatever, and in the third box put WO. This limits the search to army records. Often this will give the years he served and where he was from ..." Please note that this index is NOT complete (it is being compiled by volunteers, I am told); so he may not appear. While you are at that site, download and print off their Information Leaflets on Military Research. I have looked in my own very limited list of some Staff Corps and Royal NSW Veteran Corps members, and cannot find him. BUT this is not a complete list by any means. Many veterans of the Napoleonic wars came out to Australia with their original regiments if they were later posted here, or may have joined other regiments to be posted out here. By this, I mean that not all "veterans" came out here in a "Veteran Company". Now, IF by chance you should discover that he was a member of the "Royal NSW Veteran Corps", I should love to be advised. My second recommendation would be to look at Barrie & Margaret CHAPMAN's "Aussie Redcoats" site at: http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~garter1/ You may strike it lucky and find him there. Good Luck: ray in sydney -- always interested to hear about anyone from the Royal NSW Veteran Companies. ----- Original Message ----- From: "vicki o'reilly" <[email protected]> .... 3. Hi i am new to the list and am not sure if i am in the right area. I am trying to track down any information on Alexander Stewart married Margaret Bell in 1844. He was a widower when this marriage took place. Family stories have him working in the Berry area and as being ex-military, was supposed to be crack shot and was called "the veteran" also supposed to been at the battle of waterloo as a 16 year old. Any advice as to where to continue researching would also be helpful Vicki O'Reilly _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail is now available on Australian mobile phones. 1. ATTENTION - ATTENZIONE - ALL 12 JURY MEMBERS- R v RANDALL
    2. Mel
    3. Hello AUS-NSW-SE-L, The Judge wants an email from each of us stating either "guilty" or "not guilty", just that, no explanations, zero, zilch. We cannot have a "hung" jury, the verdict must be unanimous. Those who have stated that RANDALL is guilty have done so on spurious grounds and should have a re-think along the lines that if it was you facing that court, how would you want the court to find you, on the glaring lack of evidence. Those of you who "don't know" is a "Not Guilty" verdict, as you imply you have reasonable doubt, and therefore the defendant must have the benefit of this. If you can all comply with this, then we will hear from the Judge. -- Best regards, Mel mailto:[email protected]
