Hello Raewyn Either from NSW State Records (formerly Archives Authority of NSW) or from the Genealogical Research Kit which has been distributed to a number of regional libraries throughout NSW you will be able to access the Immigration Deposit Journals 1853-1900 (Immigrants Index) and (Depositors Index), the Immigration Board's Lists 1848-1891and the Agents Lists 1838-1896. They give fairly similar information. The Immigration Deposit Journals are on microfilm Reels 2668A-2676. The period between 1866 and 1874 is missing. They show the deposit paid by persons wishing to sponsor the immigration of a nominated person or group of persons, the depositor and the immigrant. The Immigration Board's Lists are on microfilm Reels 2458-2498 with the period 1860-1862 missing. They show name, status and age, occupation, native place and county, the names of the immigrant's parents and their address if alive, religion, read/write, the relations of the immigrant already living in the colony, state of health, remarks. The Agent's Lists are on microfilm Reels 2134-2143 and cover the period 1838-1896. They show name, status and age, occupation, native place and county, religion, read/write, remarks. You can also just go on their website - type in assisted immigration and see what you come up with. Good luck! If you get the reel number from the site and go to the archives or your local library it should give you further details of the passengers and the crew. Kaye www.bananatv.com/genealogy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raewyn Winks" <[email protected]>

Hi Tracie, Have you written to Wollongong Library? They have been very helpful to me regarding research. You could also try N.S.W State Archives, they have the 1841 Census online and it is searchable by surname. Regards Anne
Have you had a look at the State Archives ? I think you might find some info there. Kaye www.bananatv.com/genealogy

This is just a short note to thank all of the jurors and the judge for your input into the William Randall case. My thoughts are that whether William Randall was guilty or not guilty I don't think it was a fair trial, as the jury at the time found him guilty of intent although they didn't think he intended to do harm. I have to agree with Mel, the judge should have been sent of to Van Diemen's Land. Also, I would like to apologise to you all for the collapse of the second trial after all of the effort you had all put in. What happened was that our 25 year old son Andrew who has a very good chance of running in the 400 metre relay team for Australia in the Olympics 2004 was diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease IgA Nephropathy. Andrew is back training and all seems well for now, lets hope he is one of the 10 percent where the disease does not progress. I must again thank you all for your time and effort. Regards Rhonda Newell
Hello Nardia. What a great idea you have here. I would certainly be interested to know further details on the CD, such as cost -- perhaps you can e-mail me privately. Our family has two interests in Wyndham Cemetery -- the headstones are adjoining in the Presbyterian portion: the RAMSEY and BEARE ones. We do have another RAMSEY burial there which does not appear to have a headstone, probably because the father was going bankrupt about this time and could not afford one -- it is for Cecil Francis Vivian RAMSEY. (In the "Index to Death Registers 1871-1918 Held at Bega Courthouse" it shows his third christian name as 'Biban' - a transcription error I guess). He was born on the 15th of April 1889, and died just 7 months later on the 14th of November 1889. The death index shows that he died at Wyndham; and the Family Bible records indicate that he was buried at Wyndham. His parents were Francis RAMSEY and Rebecca (nee BEARE), and he was their first-born child. When they married 3 years earlier, Frank was residing at Wog Wog. Rebecca was a sister to the well-known Wyndham school-teacher: Mr Thomas BEARE. As Frank also had a bullock team and operated as a public carrier, it is possible that he was away whilst the child took ill, and that she went to her brother's for assistance. The headstone for James RAMSEY is Frank's younger brother -- who also had his own bullock team; which is beside Jimmy's wife Ann Adamson RAMSEY (nee REID). Adjoining these are the BEARE headstones. Thomas was the school-teacher; Sarah Ann (nee BAKER) was his wife. Edjar James was their 6th child; and Wallace Douglas was their 8th of 9 children. If you desire any further family details etc. on the RAMSEYs or BEAREs, please let me know -- and I will provide what I can. Congratulations again on a great idea. Best wishes for a successful project: ray ----- Original Message ----- From: "KNABAT" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2003 11:12 AM Subject: Towamba, Rocky Hall & Wyndham Cemeteries > Hi All > > I am currently putting the above cemeteries on cd for sale (Photographed). > > I was wondering if anybody on this list has any connections to the above cemeteries and would like me to add their interests to the cd?
