Hi Diane, Vera Irene Wearin was an only child who never married & died at the age of 91, I am not sure where the bible may be, I was unaware that it existed. I will make a few enquiries and see what I can find out. Hi Sylvia, I have checked my copy of the Australian Vital Records Index for John Albert Mitchell without success. I can find a record for his marriage to Sarah Shaw, but the only reference for a birth is a John Mitchell born in 1834 which is to early for your John, he did have other children, you may get more info from their certificates. Emanuel Andrew W. Mitchell Reg Year: 1876 Ref No: 6023 Reg State: NSW CB: 1437802 Jane Stella C. Mitchell Reg Year 1880 Reg No: 7807 Reg State: NSW CB: 1438984 Milton Andrew P. Mitchell Reg Year: 1876 Reg No: 6022 Reg State: NSW CB: 1440126 Hope this helps, Anne in Sydney. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Norm and Sylvia" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 10, 2004 3:16 PM Subject: [ANS] John Albert MITCHELL, b. abt 1841 > Hello everyone, > > Could someone please give me some advice, because I'm stuck. > > I have been searching for John Albert MITCHELL. He married Sarah Elizabeth SHAW in 1862. I could find nothing further on him on the NSWbdm site, so I presumed that he was an immigrant. I ordered the marriage cert but he had given no details about himself. So then I ordered the birth certificate of one of his children, Thomas Oswald, and was surprised to find that John Albert MITCHELL was born in Sydney. He states his age at the time of his son Thomas's birth, on 11th Feb, 1874, as 33years. So I presume he was born in 1840 or 1841. > > I checked again on NSWbdm, but he is not there. > > So could someone please tell me: > > 1. Is NSWbmd complete, or is there more to be added to it? > 2. Hi, I'm a new subscriber. I am looking for Janet [nee McKinnon] and John McInnes who emigrated from Sleat on the Isle of Skye in 1837 with their seven children, John, Duncan, Christy [who may have married Lachlan Nicholson of 'Fairy Hill'], Janet, Niel, Isabella [who married John Percival of 'Northamptondale' in 1846], and Angus. They went to Lachlan Macalister's property, 'Clifton', near Appin initially but someone told me they may eventually have gone to another of his properties, 'Strathaird', around Goulburn. I don't know what happened to the family apart from Isabella. I'd like to know what happened to John and Janet. Does this ring any bells with anyone. Regards Carolyne Bruyn Sydney
