Dear Judy, The obituary you mentioned for James Roberts is in the Windsor & Richmond Gazette of 1 December 1900, on page 6 column 4. The newspaper is available on micro film at the Windsor Library and other places. We are currently indexing this newspaper but the year 1900 is a way down the track at the moment. We have done a little work on the year 1900 but have not yet checked the entry locations. We are about to release (next week) the 1916-1920 index to births deaths marriages inquests obituaries probates etc, then we intend to work back in time, with luck to 1888. So thought we would let you know the location of the article you mentioned. Just looking at the file it would appear that he celebrated his 90th birthday just a few weeks earlier as there is mention of that in the edition of 22 Sept 1900 page 4 column 1 and again in the edition 29 September 1900 page 13 column 1. In volume 1 of World War 1 Hawkesbury Heroes, a book we published last November (volume 2 is in the final stages of production) there are the following mentions of the surname ROBERTS - (Windsor library has copies ) ..... Roberts A A Roberts Ada Miss Roberts George Roberts J Roberts James Roberts John Joseph Pte Roberts Miss Roberts Mr Roberts Percy Hope this is of some assistance, Judy. Best wishes Rod & Wendy Gow Judy Coppini wrote: > Could somebody help me with the family of James Roberts of Pitt Town Road, Pitt Town. He had a large family who seemed to all live on his land when he died. There is an Obituary from the Windsor Gazette dated the 14th December, 1900. I would love to see a copy of it and any other information about them. His father was John Roberts from the Rum Corps. > > Thank you, > Judy Coppini. > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
