A new book on the history of Penrith and St Marys has just been published. It is titled "Pictorial History: Penrith & St Marys" and is written by Lorraine Stacker. The book covers the Aboriginal history of the area, European settlement and then the history of each of the suburbs in the Penrith & St Marys area. It includes over 160 pictures from a variety of collections including Penrith City Library, the Nepean District Historical Society, the State Library of NSW, State Rail Authority and the National Library of Australia. The book can be purchased through Penrith City Library for $25.00 or through your local bookstore (the publisher is Kingsclear Books).
