I have some information on one Andrews family because they have several connections to members of the Hair and Byrnes families. I pass on the following information as given to me. The George and Eliza Andrews mentioned by Kristine were George Andrews and Eliza Clarke, married 1870 registered Penrith. George was the son of George Andrews who married Margaret Jepson, who was the son of George Andrews who married Margaret Gordon. This George Andrews was the son of John Andrews who married Ann Tunks. John Andrews arrived in Australia via the Glatton as a convict in 1803, and was later one of the settlers granted land in the Castlereagh area. Their children were: Rose Andrews, born 1872, believed to have married ? Luxford; George William Andrews b 1874 married Mary Ann Hair; Charles Joseph Andrews born 1876, married Minna August Johnson, (daughter of Emma Byrnes & Thomas Johnson); Henry Roland Andrews, born 1878, married Daisy Emma? Annie Louise Andrews, born 1882, believed to have married ? Dowling; Theresa Andrews, born 1884; Edward Beach Andrews, born 1888, married Mignonette Hair; Isabel Andrews, born 1891, Albert Gordon Andrews, born 1894 Andrews Road Castlereagh is named after this family - George William and Mary Ann Andrews' house was where the roundabout is now. Edward Beach Andrews owned a great deal of land in the Castlereagh area, which was eventually sold to the quarries, and is now part of the Lakes project. If any of this is known to be incorrect, I would be pleased to have it corrected. One other Andrews person I would like to know more about is the Elizabeth Andrews who married Frederick Mortimer Vine at the Wesleyan Church Penrith in September 1867. I have a marriage transcription, but there are no more details of her on it. Hoping to hear more, Pat Curry
