While it is interesting to the people involved, if the rest of us don't have the family connection in the remotest, then your emails are of no interest to us (or myself). On saying that, please, everyone have a Very Merry Christmas & safe and happy new year and best wishes for all those "Chasing Ancestors" (like me). (ii) There is a Chandler's falls near Wollomombi falls between Armidale and Dorrigo (iii) I am related to some Chandlers in Aylesbury Buckinghamshire c. 1810, If you trace back to there please let me know. 3. Hi Lyn, I can understand that some replies can stray from the original purpose of a thread and be of little or no relevence to the particular list, but in the main I would have thought that most replies remain within the bounds of the list's charter. The problem is that if everyone only replies to the individual writer then the rest of us may miss vital snippets of information which are clues to our own families and their background. And isn't that what joining these lists are all about, panning for gold and discarding most material for a glimpse of the precious? I do know that in replying to the list, that it is list etiquette to clip previous message content to only the essential information to which we are replying. May Christmas and the New Year be joyous and peaceful to all of our list contributors.
