Merry and Hot Xmas to all!!!......while I can understand Lyn Fordes comment on recieving emails with no family connection.....I have found it quite interesting as there is much more can be learnt from peoples interaction via this site. Sometimes it can be of help and sometimes not.....or someone may just mention the missing link that someone may be looking for even down a different line than being researched...even in regards to goegraphical locations etc.or even mention a surname that has a connection to a family though not necessarily related....eg.witness at a marriage etc. Have done a small amount of family research and have a basic idea of the whos and wheres, but like many , I would imagine just don't get enough time to follow up. I came across an interesting site the other day with the first " different "information I have been able to find on a great, great etc. grandparent in Mudgee who is also mentioned on the Penrith Members interests site. The Greville's 1872 Post Office Directory showed a Peter Faucett a carpenter of Short Street , Mudgee. If this is the same relative I am researching ( or could be his son ? ), he was married to a Sarah Hart and apparently came from Sweden and I think were married at Castlereagh. One of their children Josephine married Henry Bisby at Mudgee. They had a daughter Josephina who was my grandmother who married Paul malitz from Germany ?They ran what is now known as Bleak house in Mudgee as a guest or boarding house in the early 1900"s.( It was known also at some stage as Loneragans ? house ) Also found on this list what I think to be a relative of my husbands being John Denison an innkeeper at Gulgong. This Jack or John ? Denison may have also opened the first bark hut PUB! at Sofala of which we have a photograph in the 1850's and called the Blacklead Hotel if I recall rightly. Possibly I am crossing into different areas other than the Penrith Members interests....however people seemed to move around a bit at times in those days sometimes.........Thanks everyone ! a bit long ....just making up for all the times I meant to but didn't................Jan Denison Maybe I'm the last to know and you all knew already !!!! but the site is ...... http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Ehcastle/grevilles/grevilles.html If anyone has any info on my man from Sweden / Peter Faucett or Sarah Hart it would be appreciated ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lyn Forde" <lynforde@yahoo.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-PENRITH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, December 21, 2003 4:29 PM Subject: [AUS-NSW-PENRITH] Replies to emails > --0-953383106-1071984563=:87572 > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii > Content-Id: > Content-Disposition: inline > > Hi everyone, I would appreciate it if you are > answering a certain email that you only use that > emailer's address.
