I am looking for photographs with any history of Commercial Street Penrith. This street ran parallel to the west of Woodriff street( when Woodriff Street extended across Henry to the railway). It is now a car park... the sole tree left standing squared by seats was in the back yard of the last residence to live their a Mrs Jenkins. I grew up in the street from 1954 till 63( maybe 64)..which then became the beautiful splendour of concrete it now is.On the corner of Henry and Commercial Street was a hotel which when my family arrived had long since served it's last drop and was being used as a residence.( two storey sought of Paddington feel)Maybe I'll start to find what the hotel was named and go from there.A Jim Maxwell owned two properties of the 8 or 10 in the street.A milko was directly opposite Commercial on Henry which later became Coles ..now a locksmith.Thanking you all.
