Hi I have just joined the list and am searching for any information on the MCGREGOR Family who lived at Bringelly. Firstly, is Bringelly near Penrith or Liverpool? I have some marriage certificates that say Liverpool. The people I am looking for were William and Mary McGregor and perhaps some of their children, - Jane or Janet, George. I am not sure how long they were in the district. Willliam and Mary came from Nelson's Plains near Raymond Terrace in the Hunter Valley where William was a farmer.. William was the witness to the burial of his grandson at Raymond Terrace in 1867. His daughter Janet was married at Bringelly, Liverpool on 19th October 1874. So I assume they moved to the district somethime between 1867 and 1874. I remember seeing William's name on a PO directory site for Penrith a few months back but have lost the web site. Does anyone have this site? Mary was buried in the Liverpool Cemetery in 1877 but I cannot find William's death anywhere. I have a death certificate for a William McGregor whose age matches, but he died in Maitland, was an engineer and had no children - unless of course that was the story he had told his 22 year old bride when her married her in 1886 at the age of 74. Family hearsay states William did leave Mary, and that she was involved with orphans and raised a number of homeless children. Any clues would be appreciated.
