Is anyone researching Charles Moore who died on the 4 July 1895? He is buried at Emu Plains Cemetery and Penrith City Council is hoping to get in touch with any of his descendants in regard to his headstone. The headstone needs to be repaired as it is in a dangerous condition and council would like to speak to family members before they commence repair work. The inscription on the headstone reads: Charles Moore M.L.C. of Moore Court, Springwood who departed this life 4th July 1895 In his seventy fifth year If you are a descendant, or you know somebody who is, please contact me on the details below. According to the book "The Making of a Mountain Community: A Biographical Dictionary of the Springwood District" (2002) by Springwood Historians, Charles MOORE married Sarah Jane WILCOX, the daughter of one of his customers. She died in 1877, and this marriage was childless. [p231]. While visiting England and Ireland he married a widow, Annie Hill MONTGOMERY in 1883. There was no children from this marriage. Unless he had other marriages, it would appear that Charles MOORE does not have any descendants.
