Hi Listers, This may be of interest to someone. The Sydney Morning Herald, 9 Jan 1839, Page 3, Col 3, has 2 notices about the Rose Inn Penrith. The first is by John Perry who is the new proprietor extolling the virtues of his establishment in the hope that old patronage will continue and that new patronage will increase. He adds that he has secured the services of a sober groom to take charge of the stables. He also advertised for a cook and a man to travel on the road with a team. The second is by J A Salmon, informing his patrons that he is retiring from this establishment. He recommends John Perry, late of Sydney. He asks that all accounts be submitted for payment and the settlement of debts immediately as he is going into partnership with his brother-in-law, Mr J L Smith. Kristine Wood
