In reply to the email that was sent to the list, the reason for you receiving replies meant for an individual is that the email is being sent to the the Rootsweb email address. In the emails that you are receiving you should be able to see who the email is from and the address it is sent to. The way a Rootsweb list works is that if you select to reply to a Rootsweb list email, the email address selected is: AUS-NSW-PENRITH-L@rootsweb.com. That way everyone on the list receives a copy of any replies to queries sent to the list. If your reply is a little more personal it is best to send it to the individual person. Just remember to remove the Rootsweb email address and enter the email address of that person. It's a very easy thing to do especially when you are pressed for time and want to send a quick email.
