    3. Hello All, There will be accomodation available Saturday night on-site if anybody is interested in travelling some distance to this day, and staying overnight prior to it. If intested please contact John Byrnes any time before mid-day Saturday at john.mail@ozemail.com.au, or by phone at 9747 3701(H) or 9901 8789(W). Overnight accomodation is $25 per person; bring your own sheets and pillows. ----------------------------------------------- FOR: This Sunday, 20 June, from 10 a.m. onwards ----------------------------------------------- WHERE: At the Castlereagh Chapel site (old Methodist church and cemetery) on Castlereagh road just west of the Penrith Lakes Olympic water sports site ~ You can't miss finding it if driving north out of Penrith; just continue on past the big recreational area (after first turning left/west at the round-about) and you will soon reach the old church. You will be heading for the small hall shown in the picture at: http://www.penrithcity.nsw.gov.au/Lib/LocalSuburbs/Images/castlereaghMethodi st.jpg PROGRAM: 10:00 - Family established in Aus, six branches - Wilkinson's (and others, as may be attending) 11:30 a.m. - Morning tea - Families, cont. 12:30 - 1:15 p.m. - Lunch, graveyard inspection, view pioneer families grove of memorial trees (Bring you own food; tea, coffee and water available) - Celtic-British roots (what's known, avenues of further research) - Possibilities for future cooperative effort Meeting should end at about 3:30 p.m. Re-gather at Castlereagh Cemetery for those interested to visit graves. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Other information: ENTRY COST: Nil. THIS DATE: is in recognition of the arrival in Sydney in 1804 of Ann Reffin, on the ship "Experiment", after she was likely held about 9 months on the hulks before being transported. Ann was capitally convicted at Nottingham Assizes in 1802, and reprieved for transportation two weeks later. She was born at Walton on the Wolds in 1783. She was daughter of an Ann and John (Reffin), and this memorial day for her is also hosted by an Ann and John (Byrnes) .. descendant. In Australia she married David Burns/Byrnes, from Ireland, who was tried in Dublin on 22 October 1798, the year of the great United Irish war of independence.
