I am seeking out the origins of my ggg grandparents John Stewart and Letitia Neith who were having children in the Penrith area in the 1820s as follows: James b. abt 1819, Mary Ann b. abt 1823 and my gg grandmother Sophia Harriet b. abt 1828. These are all I know of, but there may be more descendants. I know that John was a cabinetmaker. I am trying to find out who they were, where they were born and how they came to the colony. Any information or contacts from other descendants would be greatly appreciated. Lynda Legradi
Descendants of Richard and Suvina Hardy. Richard was a convict per Charles Kerr in 1836 ,transported for 7 years and later married Suvina(Sabina) Hill a bounty immigrant at Dungog in 1844. They had a family of between 19 and 23 children, so their descendants are spread far and wide along the east coast regions of Australia. We will have a stand at the forthcoming Manning Wallambah family History Fair on 18th October and would like to reach as many family members as possible, with a view to recording family stories, obtaining copies of photographs and to guage the level of interest in a reunion, publishing a book and erecting memorials to those early pioneers who do not have a headstone to mark their graves. Cheers Pam

For further information please contact Vicki Wilson - vickicwilson@bigpond.com.au While this isn't strictly related to the Penrith area, I know that a few of the list members do have research interests in the mountains area. Hi I have just joined the list and am searching for any information on the MCGREGOR Family who lived at Bringelly. Firstly, is Bringelly near Penrith or Liverpool? I have some marriage certificates that say Liverpool. The people I am looking for were William and Mary McGregor and perhaps some of their children, - Jane or Janet, George. I am not sure how long they were in the district. Willliam and Mary came from Nelson's Plains near Raymond Terrace in the Hunter Valley where William was a farmer.. William was the witness to the burial of his grandson at Raymond Terrace in 1867. His daughter Janet was married at Bringelly, Liverpool on 19th October 1874. So I assume they moved to the district somethime between 1867 and 1874. I remember seeing William's name on a PO directory site for Penrith a few months back but have lost the web site. Does anyone have this site? Mary was buried in the Liverpool Cemetery in 1877 but I cannot find William's death anywhere. I have a death certificate for a William McGregor whose age matches, but he died in Maitland, was an engineer and had no children - unless of course that was the story he had told his 22 year old bride when her married her in 1886 at the age of 74. Family hearsay states William did leave Mary, and that she was involved with orphans and raised a number of homeless children. Any clues would be appreciated. Dear Heather, That would be marvellous and I would be very grateful! I am assuming that David died after 1945 as I can't find his death in the CD's. If you come across any other Bambach(k)'s they would also belong to me! Appreciate your help as I am almost completed the family book and am trying to tie up a few loose ends. Look forward to hearing from you. Hello! I am trying to find any information about Bellbird Reserve in Emu PLains. Bellbird Reserve is a bushland site with stone walls and terraces that were extensively landscaped by the Hall family who owned the adjoining property. The Hall home was on 13 Hessell Place, Emu Plains. The Hall family dedicated the land to Penrith City Council in 1975. I am trying to find out any information at all about the family, or the reserve itself. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------ Kind regards Yvette Sharkey The information contained in this e-mail message may be confidential information and may also be the subject of legal professional privilege. Hi all, I am trying to find out anything about my great great grandmother SARAH ANN HUDSON who was supposed to have married JOHN HUDSON in Van Diemen's Land in 1851. Sarah already had a 6 year old daughter ELLEN SARAH ANN CRAMPTON (my great grandmother) when she gave birth to a son to John Hudson also named JOHN in 1858 and had a second son to him named HENRY RICHARD in 1862. I have her death certificate which says that she is buried in St Stephen's Church, Penrith in 1883. ELLEN married an ALBERT JAMES WORBOYS whose family also lived in Penrith before they moved north to Kempsey. This is my brick wall I have been trying to break down for the last 20 years. I cannot find where SARAH and ELLEN came from or a marriage for Sarah in Tasmania. Any help at all would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bev Collins
