Good morning Listers, Still working on the HAMPSON family and with the kind assistance of many on the List, it is turning out to be a good yarn indeed. Still trying to find out what ship the HAMPSON family arrived on from the USA. I believe however, the year would be IN 1854, between the birth of Mary Ann in the US in 1853 and the birth of Thomas in N.S.W. around Sept in 1854. The story goes so far for the line of the rellie I am assisting with this research:- Edward and Mary HAMPSON, (nee Harrison) from Ashton Under Lyne, Lancaster England, their son:- Wright Harrison HAMPSON, born 1848 Salem Mass, married Isabella Emmeline Reid at Port Macquarie in 1870 (Isabella being the daughter of Edward and Ann Reid of Port Macquarie), their son:- Arthur William HAMPSON born at Tamworth in 1874, married Caroline E Hollis at Cootamundra in 1899, their daughter:- Daphne E. HAMPSON born in Sydney in 1905, married Howard Edgar BOLTON in 1928. (The Bolton family story is another great Saga of intrigue and mystery). I am hoping someone can throw some light on Isabella Emmeline Reid. I have found she is the daughter of Edward and Ann Reid. I can find that this couple had two sons, Charles born 1855 and James born 1862, however I am unable to find the birth of Isabella. She married Wright Harrison HAMPSON in 1870, and guessing she may have been around 18, she may have been born circa 1852. I also, am unable to find a marriage for her parents, which makes me think they could have been immigrants and Isabella was born not in Australia.
