Hi all, Just a few reminders: 1. The Norco list is hosted by Rootsweb http://www.rootsweb.com/ Rootsweb has a wide range of genealogical resources available free. 2. The archives of the Norco list are searchable at http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl Just type "AUS-NSW-NORCO-L" (without the " marks) and you will be taken to the search page. If you type in another valid list name you can search that list instead. 3. You can also search the Norco list (and other NSW lists) from http://resources.rootsweb.com/world/Australia/NewSouthWales/ but only the bottom group of searches seem to work properly, at least for Norco. You can also search Norco from the Welcome page of Bellingen Gen Web www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli/ 4. Rootsweb's Australian web sites, many genealogy links and email lists for all states can be found through http://resources.rootsweb.com/world/Australia.html and the State sites linked from there. 5. Bellingen Gen Web www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli/ is associated with the Norco list and in particular the books, links, archives and settlers pages and database may be of assistance for enquiries about NSW North coast. If you have something about Bellingen district you would like to submit please email [email protected] 6. Please post your interests every 2 or 3 months or so for the benefit of new subscribers to the list. They may have that information you are looking for, but be too shy to post! New listers should search the archives as the information you are after may have been posted months ago by someone who is no longer on the list!! 7. It helps if you put the Surname, First name; Place; Year to Year in the message subject as that makes it very easy to see whether messages in the archives are relevant to you. 8. Spread the word about Norco when replying to messages on other lists. In Outlook Express 5 You can use Tools>Options>Signatures and add a signature like the one below, then use Insert>Signature on each message. 9. Keep up the goodness by helping answer queries and being nice to one another, particularly those whose questions may indicate that they have little experience, or have no experience in working with microfiche, indexes, bureaucracies, etc. 10. Procedures for subscribing and unsubscribing are below my name. 11. Can you help with transcribing or scanning an index to a North Coast book? See www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli/transcribe.html The NSW North Coast Book Indexing Project has about 20 book indexes on line. They can be searched from the yellow search box on the Welcome page or individually. 12. There is all the information you could want on Norco at www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli/norco.html Kind regards to all Paul Hanly Rhodes, Sydney, Australia Coordinator Bellingen Gen Web www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli/ [email protected] North Coast NSW mail list A mailing list for North Coast NSW has been established. People can subscribe to the list in mail mode by sending a message to [email protected] that contains the word subscribe and nothing else. To switch from one mode to the other, they should unsubscribe from one and then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if they want messages to stop, they should simply unsubscribe. To post to both AUS-NSW-NORCO-L and AUS-NSW-NORCO-D, messages should be sent to [email protected] Messages sent there will appear both places.
