Bob - A Connor/O'Connor family moved from Bemboka to Crystal Creek about 1900. The father Edward O'Connor and family had the PO there until about 1916. The wife was Elizabeth Alcock and children were Elizabeth Catherine (Kate), Rachel G m Akers, Josephine m Jack Kenny, Isabella T m Bill Guinea, Rosebella m Jim McDonald, Margaret m Sr M Alphonsus, Edna St M Edmund, Mary Jane m Jim Byrne, Augustine ?, Thomas m Alouise Minmaw, William, Esmonde m Florence Holland. I doubt if there is a connection because the names are different and they came from South Coast. Still it might help you sort out the families of the same name in Mur'bah area. When I was doing this research for the Crystal Creek school centenary I was told that the O'Connor family in Mur'bah who had a carrying business if my memory serves me rightly were not related to the Crystal Creek ones. There is also a Palmer family in the area. Lesley Palmer wife of Glen Clark lives on Wommin Bay Rd and her mother lives at South Tweed heads. It is probably drawing a long bow but it is just possible there is a connection. Good luck with your research. Feel free to contact me if you want more info. Alice Erickson researching Wark/Stewart in Coonabarabran area and Erickson/Slyney in Taree area.
