Lee, I am researching personnel who enlisted from the Port Macquarie area during WW1 and have an Albert Edward De Vere 2299 Pte 20 Battalion, who enlisted Jun 29, 1915 and was KIA May 3, 1917 aged 24. He was born at Port Macquarie, but his next of kin details are:- Son of Alfred De V of 136 Oberon St Coogee, NSW and the late Mrs De V. He is buried at 26 Villiers Bretonneux-France. These details can be seen at the Aust War Memorial web site and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. If you wish I can scan them and e-mail them to you. Would be interested in any family details and/or letters, intending to publish a book similar to my "Letters From The Boer War", available at [email protected] . Mrs B. Robins at our Port Macquarie Historical Society could advise if we hold any details on McKell.(same address) Ian, Port Macquarie ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob & Lee Mills <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 27, 2000 6:10 PM Subject: McKELL & DE VERE FAMILIES > Would love to hear from anyone researching the names McKELL or DE VERE in the PORT MACQUARIE areas. > Thanks > Lee > > Lee Mills > North Nowra > N.S.W. > Australia > > > ==== AUS-NSW-NORCO Mailing List ==== > Search the archived emails of the Norco and other lists.
