Good morning Listers, I hope Lismore comes under this List, if not, could SKS point me in the right direction. I have speaking to my husband's cousin's wife, Caroline, and have confirmed that she comes through Wright Harrison HAMPSON, born in the USA in 1848 in Salem, Mass. Wright Harrison HAMPSON, was the coach driver who would play on his Bugle "The girl I Left Behind" as his coach left town. Caroline's gg grandfather was Arthur William HAMPSON, the third child of Wright Harrison HAMPSON and his first wife Isabella Emmaline (nee Reid). I have a mystery which I hope someone can help to solve. Isabella Emmaline HAMPSON (also known as Emma) the first wife of Wright Harrison HAMPSON, died in 1886. There were seven known children born to this couple between 1871 and 1880, Henry, Alice, Arthur William, George Albert, Wright Herbert, Walter John and Islet Ruby. Alice died in 1874 now long after she was born. All the marriages and deaths of these children have been researched. However, something very strange has come to light, while searching the NSW BDM, and that is the death of one Flott V.R. HAMPSON, who died in Lismore in 1892, the child of Wright and Isabella E HAMPSON. Who is Flott V.R.Hampson? On Isabella's death certificate, there are only six children recorded, Alice the baby that died at birth is not listed. Could Flott V R, which is a very strange first name, be a transcribing error? But if so, still who is this child or adult? They died 6 years after Isabella. Would there be a death notice in the local newspaper? In 1892 where would the burial take place? A lot of question I know, but hoping that someone maybe able to throw a little light on the mystery. In the meantime I have suggested to Caroline to purchase the death certificate to see what information it contains. Regards, Janice
