You might find the comprehensive list of publications at the Australian War Memorial site helpful. Some of the books would no doubt be in your local library. Select the "Discover Australia's Military History" link at http://www.awm.gov.au/ and then the "Second World War 1939-45" link - scroll to the end and select the "Reading List" which requires Acrobat. Rootsweb have an AUS-MILITARY mail list. Its archives for 1999 & 2000 can be searched by entering the list name at: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl and then a query such as "Volunteer", "Land Army" or whatever. It is a case of horses for courses. Such questions are better directed to where answers may be forthcoming. John Brisbane
