Hi Everybody I have a Thomas Chittenden who arrived in Sydney on the ship 'Atlas 3', 22 Jul 1816, having been convicted for sheep stealing in Kent, UK. He married Elizabeth Tilliving/Tillevan, Parramatta, 1822. He again fell foul of the law in 1825, sentenced to 14 years and was sent to Port Macquarie, with his wife, on the 'Elizabeth Henrietta'. Governor Brisbane reduced his sentence prior to his resignation and he was back in Sydney in 1831,employed ar HM Dockyards as a Watchman. I would appreciate any information or suggestion how to research his domicile in Port Macquarie. Also searching for a Branchett convict? Best Wishes Arthur Chittenden Sunny but Cold Sydney.
