Hello to everyone, I am a new to this list and would like to post my interests. My main interest is the HANCOCK family. It seems my GGGGrandparents came to Sydney, in 1857 with their three sons Frederick (My GGGrandfather), Charles Phillip and George. The family settled around Ballina, Lismore, Grafton and Richmond River. Frederick HANCOCK married Sarah STONE in 1873 and went on to have 14 children. The couple appeared to move to Queensland in the early 1900's, but I'm sure not all of their children followed. Charles Phillip HANCOCK married Catherine BYRNES in 1870 and had 11 children. The couple lived in the area for their entire lives and were laid to rest in the Ballina cemetary. George William HANCOCK married Rebecca Matilda DURRINGTON and had 12 children that I know of - could be more. This couple also appeared to live in the same area all of their lives and were laid to rest in Lismore Cemetary. These brothers children married into the following families: HUNT, VARDY, RILEY, JOHNSON, MAHER, BURKE, TEMPLE, MUIRHEAD, MARTIN, Reverand BRUNTON, BROWN, PRICE, DRISCOLL, BRYANT, SNODGRASS, LEES, McANDREW, McPHERSON, BROOKER, BROWNING, MAXWELL, BRINDLEY, SHIPWAY, McKENZIE, BECKENHAM, VINCENT. Some of the above families I have a lot of information on and some are just a name - would love to hear from anyone with an interest in these people, kindest regards, Mandy in not so sunny Queensland.
