Hi folks, sorry for the cross posting on this. I am wondering if anybody knows what steam ship companies were operating between Victoria, NSW and Queensland between 1888 and 1925. We know our ggrandfather sailed with the NCSN Company consistantly and initially thought he just sailed with the one company but are now beginning to suspect that he worked with multiple companies, as we have acquired some postcards that have him in locations all over the east coast of Australia. I am wondering what historical societies we should write to, so that we can get searches done on their shipping records. We know that the Mitchell Library holds the NCSN records but was wondering if Mike Richards could have left copies of his records elsewhere. If anybody has ever come across information on the NCSN I would love to hear from you. I have emailed the Macleay Historical Society, but havent heard back from them. best regards Maureen
Dear Maureen, Richmond River Historical Society at Lismore has a file on NCSN. They have an on-line index at http://www.richhistory.org.au Good luck, Wayne. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maureen Doyle" <maurbug@ozemail.com.au> To: <AUS-NSW-NORCO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, 20 April 2006 12:15pm Subject: [NORCO] Steam Ship Companies > Hi folks, sorry for the cross posting on this. > I am wondering if anybody knows what steam ship companies were > operating between Victoria, NSW and Queensland between 1888 and > 1925.
