Hello, I have gradually found some of my brick walls, but I have a couple more I need some advise on. The major one I have just unravelled was my grandfathers birth, the whole family always thought he was born on the ship on the way out from England, but after two years of searching I have just received his birth cert and he was born in England,so the next hurdle is finding out when the family came out,my information I have it would of been around 1912/1914, my grandfather would of been about 14 so would he need to be nationalised, and if so where would I find this. My biggest obstacle is I have I have his Royal Navy war records from WW2,but I'm sure he was in the first world war,as he put his age up(family rumour). But I have photos from the first war and I have a newspaper article about the ship Wollongong comes home from the second world war and mentioned in it is my grandfather and it states in it that he was in the first world war, and his daugthers have told me he was in the first war.The thing is I can't find any trace of him in the first world war, would he have the same service number in the first war as in the second war,and I have a feeling that as he had to put his age up to get in he might of used a different name (anything is possible with him) if so how do I find out.Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
