    3. Reg- The book "Maclean: the First Fifty Years 1862-1912" by E.H. McSwan does have details on your Charles DAVIS; no mention of W & E JOHNSON. This book is a great publication, & is still available (at a very reasonable price) from the Maclean District Historical Society - their contact details are available on website: http://www.bri.net.au/~macleanhistory/index.html The Society also has extensive info on the DAVIS family (I don't know if it is Charles DAVIS family). In summary from E.H. McSwan's book, your Charles DAVIS - carpenter, son of John & Johannah DAVIS, born 1868, Woodford Island, married Edith Clarence JOHNSON 1900; 6 children. Rod- Regarding the name FIRTH in Tucabia area, there is a road there, named Firth Heinz Rd.
