    3. Hi everyone, I am researching my father's ancestors in NSW, and would appreciate hearing form anyone who is also researching these families, or who has any information on them as part of their own family research. I would also like to make contact with other descendants from any of the families. JOHN HURRELL who came out to NSW from Norfolk in 1853, and settled in Kinchela Creek, Macleay River with his second wife Ellen nee CROWE (father Michael). John Hurrell's first wife Harriet died shortly after they arrived in NSW. They had quite a few children who's names i have. Some of the families they married into include Donnelly, Sanders and Price. John's parents were Mark and Elizabeth, who did not emigrate with John. I know nothing about Ellen Crowe, before her marriage to John Hurrell. James Coffey b c 1829 married Sarah Moyes, and they had Mary Ann, as well as other children, who's names I have. I also have various certificates, which have helped in my research, but Sarah's birth (at Parramatta) was not registered. He father's name was William, and he was listed as a bootmaker on her death certificate. Would anyone happen to have any further information about these Coffey/Moyes families? I have not been able to ascertain when either came to NSW, on what ship etc. they are rather a mystery despite a lot of searching. Any help or information would be much appreciated. I have tried state records, national archives, various shipping lists etc. I am unable to obtain their immigration records at present becasue i do not know enough to request the right ones. I have John Hurrell's immigration records. Thanking you, Barb accenthl@iprimus.com.au

    3. Dear Kerry, Records were kept of ships entering and leaving different ports, and if they survived they are held by State Records KINGSWOOD. Try www.records.nsw.gov.au to see what listings they have. I have inspected some shipping lists that do not necessarily name each passenger. Some just have 6 steerage passengers or Mr & Mrs Smith and four children etc. Sincerely,Bill > Hi everyone, > I am hoping someone can give me some information or point me in the right > direction. > > The female members of the Bugden family traveled from the Hunter to > Grafton > in 1870/1871 to join the men of the family who had traveled overland.

    3. Hello Kerry Your best bet wold be to find someone with the Index to the Clarence River Examiner. This was done by the people ( Jean McNaught I think ) at the Richmond River Library at Goonellabah ( as they have also done for the Lismore Papers ). I purchased one of these for the Kiama Family History Centre where I am a volunteer. However, I will probably not be back there till Saturday week. If you find them on the index you will have the date of the paper. You can then contact the library and they will copy the page in which they are mentioned for a reasonable fee. I will be passing through there in mid to late October but cannot guarantee what I can do. I usually do visit there to see what new transcriptions/ indexes that they have for sale. I am happy to look up what and when I can but can't make any guarantees. The female members of the Bugden family traveled from the Hunter to Grafton in 1870/1871 to join the men of the family who had traveled overland. 3. More information needed?? Well I dont have much and its not my family its for a friend I am doing this research. Victor Harold Thompson supposedly born 10/3/1908 at Ashfield NSW His parents as per his marriage certificate shows Father: James William Thompson Mother: May Weatherstone. Victor was married 7/3/1935 at Orange to Linda May Williamson. Victor may have a half brother named Lionel, unsure of surname. May Weatherstone maybe deceased at time of Victor's wedding 1935. I think James Thompson is not Victor's real father, but adopted or something. Maybe James William Thompson went to war and died. Maybe May Weatherstone had married again. The family thinks the surnames of WITHERS, WETHERS, WINTERTON OR WINTERS are involved. The dates of Victor's birth are very similar to his marriage date. Also his wife's middle name is also his mother's first name. Is it a coincidence or did they make up the info??? Back in 1935 would you need to show birth registration of bride and groom??? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
