Hi Everybody I have a Thomas Chittenden who arrived in Sydney on the ship 'Atlas 3', 22 Jul 1816, having been convicted for sheep stealing in Kent, UK. He married Elizabeth Tilliving/Tillevan, Parramatta, 1822. He again fell foul of the law in 1825, sentenced to 14 years and was sent to Port Macquarie, with his wife, on the 'Elizabeth Henrietta'. Governor Brisbane reduced his sentence prior to his resignation and he was back in Sydney in 1831,employed ar HM Dockyards as a Watchman. I thought it was time to repost my interests on the north coast. I am very eager for any information on the DAY'S. I know Matthew DAY married Eliza Lee in London in1854, I can't find how or when they arrived in Aus but Mark DAY was born in Sydney in 1858, other siblings were Robert b 1861, Catherine b 1864.Mark married Catherine Saur in Toowoomba, they had 9 children 3 in Qld 6 around Lismore, one of whom was my grandfather Walter DAY. I'd be very interested in any information on any of these DAY'S. Walter married Mable White at Lismore and had 5 children. Mable's father was Robert WHITE b 1867 Lismore his father was Charle WHITE who came out from Essex, Eng in 1853. Robert married Elizabeth STANFORD IN 1888 at Lismore, Elizabeth's father was Charles STANFORD b McLeay River near Kempsey in 1843, his father was William STANFORD who arrived in 1838 from Wiltshire,Eng. Charles married Susan GOLDING in 1864 at Casino. Susan arrived in Aus in 1859 with her parents James and Elizabeth and sister Eliza and brother John another sister Deborah died on the passage out.
