All are invited- We would like all those people who are associated with the family names in the former request, whether married into or descended from, to be part of the procession. Other families who have been resident in the district may also like to register their intention of joining the procession, on Saturday 12th May 2001. All groups need to register their intention to participate, then organise your fellow family members and make yourself a sign stating the family, and if possible dress in costume of an earlier time. Groups will meet at the Berry Memorial Park opposite the railway station at 11am. Elderly or very young are welcome to join the procession along the route. So e-mail Mary Lidbetter now - <[email protected]> or ring on (02) 4464 1062 and discuss to probability of attending. Mary L. Lidbetter - co ordinator of Family History Segment
I am trying to trace either the origin or the last known whereabouts of a William Johnson ,born approx 1825 and dissappearing in the late 1800's. He lived on Woodford Island, Married Annie Small in 1846, had 7 children, Charles, Oliver, Mary, George, Wilford, Alfred and Lenod. He left his family and I have no further knowledge. I am also in the dark as to where He originally came from. Would love to hear from any one who can shed any light him . Thanks Murray.
----- Original Message ----- From: Les Hewett, Napier, New Zealand To: London List Cc: Kiwi List Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2001 10:24 AM Subject: PERCENTAGE OF PRE-1813 PARISH RECORDS INCLUDED ON THE IGI I have recently obtained a copy of the May/June 1998 issue of Family Chronicle (US) magazine. An article carrying this heading (subject title above) provides an INDEX to ENGLISH only "Parish Register records/and or Bishops' Transcripts, pre-1813, included on the IGI with at least baptisms for no less than a 50 year period. These County percentages are taken from an (unreferenced) official LDS publication dated August 1984." For Middlesex (London) it is 95%; the highest was Worcestershire at 97%; the three lowest are Rutland 2%; Somersetshire and Northamptonshire 3%; and Dorsetshire 8%. If any lister would like the figures for particular Counties, come back off-line. The article goes on to recommend The Phillimore Atlas and Index of Parish Registers as another excellent source - as many of us know. Les Hewett, Napier, New Zealand.
Hi List, Just wanted to tell you that I now have copies of : "A History of Coutts Crossing and Nymboida Districts, Volumes One and Two" "Glenreagh - 1858 -1983" "History of the German Community in the Clarence River District of NSW" If anybody wants any lookups please just email me. Jennie Rediger [email protected]
I suspect the location in Koreelah Creek which flows into the Clarence River. Localities in the area include New Koreelah and Old Koreelah, just south of that delightful little township, Killareny, in southern Queensland. Frederick died in Coffs Harbour in 1925. Mary was still alive. I thought that maybe Mary C. had brothers and sisters who would have ancestors in the North Coast area. If you are connected could you please contact me. Jennie Rediger [email protected]

Hi I'm looking for a descendant of Harriet Ann Oakes nee Kemp, especially one who is interested in family history. I know Harriet had sons called Douglas and Sholto - in fact I have a photograph of them - but I don't know what became of them. If anyone can help I'd love to hear from you. Regards, Jenny Willmott in Perth WA
Hi everyone, Looking for connections to the MUNRO's (William and Annie McKay) who came out on the "James Moran" in 1839 from Sutherlandshire, Scotland. Settled in the Shoalhaven before moving to the North Coast around Lismore. Children: Donald (buried at Tucki), Anne, Jane, Angus (buried Coraki), Hughena, Catherine and Barbara. Angus' daughter Alexandrina married Allan LIVINGSTONE and I believe many Livingstones may still be in the area around Lismore. I am descended from Angus' son Hugh and hoping to hear from others interested in these families. Regards Julie Bambach
I have just found out from a certificate that a rellie was accidentlly killed at Vegetable Creek in the Mines in 1875. Can anybody suggest which Newspaper I might check for a story, which might tell me exactly how he was killed? Thanks Jennie Rediger [email protected]
Hi all! Thanks for all the replies I've had relating to Lavender's in Bellingen, I can't believe all the replies I got, my interests mainly lie in the descendants of Samuel and Elizabeth Anderson (nee Timbs). Their son Samuel and his wife Sophia (nee Bailey) came to the Coffs Harbour/North Coast area, as did many of Samuel's siblings. Any descendants or associated families who would be interested in sharing research would be welcomed gladly by the group of researchers I have been collating information with for a book planned for release later this year, Regards, Kylie :)
