    3. Hi Vanessa, Do you know anything about the TREMBLE family? There is a Neil McGee who has a Tremble branch in his tree, and they're all from around Emmaville & Tenterfield area. I was helping Neil with his tree last year. In the info below, you will see there are quite a few Trembles in his tree. Can't see a Frederick though. Maybe you can see where Fred fits in. John & Harriet McLADY (can't find a NSW marriage) A John McLady died at Tenterfield at 56yrs - 1903 rego.8052 Children: 1. Ada - b.1875 rego.21305 - married William J TREMBLE 1897 rego.6393 2. Albert - b.1876 rego 22001 - died 1978 rego 10188 3. Ann - b.1878 rego 24056 - a Annie Maclady married Bernard C LONGBOTTOM in 1906 rego.9179 - possible marriage 4. John - b.1879 rego.25368 5. Mary - b.1881 rego.15571 All from around Tenterfield. Ada MALADY (died 1934 r.23500) married William J TREMBLE 1897 r.6393 Children: 1. Kate L - b.1898 rego.35078 - married Benjamin E TAYLOR 1921 rego.13203 2. Edith H - b.1899 rego.16417 3. Florence E - b.1901 rego.7911 - married Robert C M DEHENHAM 1934 r.2003 4. Clifford E - b.1910 rego.15612 It looks like there is a family connection between the TREMBLES & MALADYS. A John MALADY married Margaret J TREMBLE in 1888 rego.3452 - the marriage is also registered under the same rego number, but in 1890 as well. I think it looks like they married in 1888, but the marriage wasn't registered until 1890. Children: 1. William G - b.1891 rego.12735 2. Cyrel J F - b.1895 rego.8101 - married Isabella E EGAN 1918 rego.10128 Cyrel is born under MALADY but married under McLADY 3. Dorothy A - b.1897 rego.16961 It looks like Margaret J TREMBLE had a child before she married John MALADY. Albert E J TREMBLE - b.1886 rego.20664 Possible marriage - a Ernest A J TREMBLE married Harriet KNIGHT in 1903 rego.9473. Margaret J TREMBLE & William J TREMBLE's (brother & sister) parent's were: Francis TREMBLE married Helen McGILLWRAY 1860 rego.2745 Children: 1. Alexander - b.1861 rego.13914 - died 1909 rego.5338 2. "...........Bert Simpson married Martha Rediger, and they built a house south of that of their parents' home on the rise that overlooked the farm. When his parents bought the property south of Glenreagh on the Nana Glen road, Bert bought the adjoining property (now known as Howlett's). Bert and Martha had no children. He died in 1927. Martha later married Steve Simmonds, who was an engine driver on the Dorrigo railway. In the early 1930's this property was planted with Tung Oil trees as an experiment, it proved unsuccessful." 1. New Listers Interests!
    2. Mandy O'Neill
    3. Hello to everyone, I am a new to this list and would like to post my interests. My main interest is the HANCOCK family. It seems my GGGGrandparents came to Sydney, in 1857 with their three sons Frederick (My GGGrandfather), Charles Phillip and George. The family settled around Ballina, Lismore, Grafton and Richmond River. Frederick HANCOCK married Sarah STONE in 1873 and went on to have 14 children. The couple appeared to move to Queensland in the early 1900's, but I'm sure not all of their children followed. Charles Phillip HANCOCK married Catherine BYRNES in 1870 and had 11 children. The couple lived in the area for their entire lives and were laid to rest in the Ballina cemetary. George William HANCOCK married Rebecca Matilda DURRINGTON and had 12 children that I know of - could be more. This couple also appeared to live in the same area all of their lives and were laid to rest in Lismore Cemetary. These brothers children married into the following families: HUNT, VARDY, RILEY, JOHNSON, MAHER, BURKE, TEMPLE, MUIRHEAD, MARTIN, Reverand BRUNTON, BROWN, PRICE, DRISCOLL, BRYANT, SNODGRASS, LEES, McANDREW, McPHERSON, BROOKER, BROWNING, MAXWELL, BRINDLEY, SHIPWAY, McKENZIE, BECKENHAM, VINCENT. Some of the above families I have a lot of information on and some are just a name - would love to hear from anyone with an interest in these people, kindest regards, Mandy in not so sunny Queensland.

Go to www.rootsweb.com/~nswbelli and scroll down to the yellow and white search boxes. Search for your names using each of them. Well as I said before :( I am looking for further information about any of the following (or all). They may be separate families but I suspect, and hope, that they may be related. The first GALEY was a convict who was transported to New South Wales, Australia - details below: Name: GALEY, George Age: 19 Occupation: Brass founder Ship: Earl Grey 2 Year: 1838 Birth Place: Birmingham, England The second GALEY was married to a George GALEY and she died in 1846 The third GALEY was Robert GALEY who married Agnes MACDONALD in 1884 in New South Wales, Australia The fourth GALEY (my wife's ancestor) could have been born in Australia circa 1839 or 1844. George Bishop GALEY arrived in New Zealand in 1850 - death certificate date In 1863 he was in New Zealand He applied for a miners right in Wollongong, NSW, Australia on the 1 January 1872 By 1875 he was back in New Zealand where he married Ellen STENT and raised the usual large family in Takaka, Golden Bay, New Zealand and doesn't appear to have left New Zealand again. The Coffs Harbour City Library have the reels for the Advocate from 1907. In 1925 it would have been titled the "Coffs Harbour and Dorrigo Advocate". If you emailed the Librarian she may throw it on a reader and check it for you. Obits usually appeared in first issue after a funeral. The library catalogue is online and reachable from http://www.chcc.nsw.gov.au/library/index.html However it will incorrectly tell you the library only has microfilm from 1982-89. Also the NSW State Reference Library have the microfilms from 1907. Its catalogue is also online at: http://library.slnsw.gov.au/search/ I know the Coffs Harbour Family History Inc. have unpublished Cemetery Indexes. So you might try it at webpage: http://www.genealogy.coffs.com.au/ John Brisbane
