Hey Everyone, The Coffs Coast Advocate has just gone online. Current notices (births, deaths, funerals, engagements, marriages, in memoriams, etc) are now online. Useful site to bookmark if you are doing genealogy in the area :) From the home page, click on classifieds link on the left and do a search on notices. Keep in mind this is a new site, so no old notices on there. www.coffscoastadvocate.com.au Cheers, Kylie Anderson-Hoschke

There is a picnic lunch at Bray's Creek's near Tyalgum, this Sunday (tomorrow) I know it is late notice. It is 100 years since Nelson Kirby, his wife Georgina Smith and her brother James settled in the Bray's Creek, Tyalgum area. Descendants of both families are meeting for a picnic lunch tomorrow. Christine
Sorry to bother the list, but I am trying to find the above lady who lives in the Northern Rivers area - I believe I have some info for her. I wish to thank all the members of this list for their replies to my dilemma regarding Rosanna ROBINSON and the marriage of Elizabeth BROCK to Abraham STANLEY. I am following up on the information contained in these replies, and am overwhelmed with the interest shown in my request. Thank You, one and all! Margery (Gloucester NSW)
Hello Listmembers I have just received a marriage certificate from NSW BDM for the marriage in Grafton on 24 January 1863 of Abraham STANLEY and Elizabeth BROCK. The ceremony was conducted by William FIDLER according to the rites of the Wesleyan Church. It states "the consent of Rosanna ROBINSON of Grafton, mother of the bride was given to the marriage of Elizabeth Brock with Abraham Stanley - the said Elizabeth Brock being under the age of twenty one years". Other than that, the certificate gives no information - their birthplaces unknown, the groom's parents unknown, the bride's father unknown. Even the ages of the bride and groom unknown. Interestingly all the "unknowns" have been then crossed out. It looks as though the certificate could have been completed some time after the ceremony, except for the witness signatures, Richard PAYNE and Sarah PAYNE (her mark). Has anyone discovered a Rosanna ROBINSON in their searches and is anything known about the officiating minister William FIDLER? Any suggestions at all would be very much appreciated. Margery (Gloucester, NSW)
Thankyou Christine and Tracie for your replies. I am trying to chart the possible movements of my husband's great grandfather, Abraham STANLEY (also known as FLOAT). Margery

Could anyone tell whether it would have been possible to travel from the Tamworth area to Grafton, overland, in the 1860's. Thank you. Margery.
Greetings Listmembers, this is my first message to this list. Abraham STANLEY married Elizabeth BROCK in 1863 at Grafton. They had a son, Joseph T. born that year. I believe that Abraham was my husband's great grandfather by his second wife Lenney Charlotte VANT. Does anyone have any information on this family? Regards, Margery
Can anyone please advise me if there is a record in the Maclean district of the burial of either Clarence John Jackson or his wife Amy (nee Davis) between 1950 and 1960? Regards...Rex Toomey
Hi all. Seeking information on a J. Peters & Co who operated a refreshment room at Barraba around 1916. As I could not find his name on the Commonwealth electoral roll, he may never have voted, but he may have appeared on the NSW State roll...is there one for this period ??. Cheers ..
