The Twelve Days of a Genealogy Christmas On the twelfth day of Christmas, My true love gave to me, Twelve census searches, Eleven printer ribbons, Ten e-mail contacts, Nine headstone rubbings, Eight birth and death dates, Seven town clerks sighing, Six second cousins, Five coats of arms, Four GEDCOM files, Three old wills, Two CD-ROMs, And a branch in my family tree.
Hi Everyone I saw this on a Queensland list. Thought you might be interested to read it. Kind regards Heather ----------------------- Genealogy is my Pastime. I shall not stray. It maketh me to lie down and examine half-buried Tombstones It leadeth me into still Courthouses. It restoreth my Ancestral Knowledge.. It leadeth me into the Paths of Census Records and Ships Passenger Lists for my Surnames' sake. Yea, though I wade through the Shadows of Research Libraries and Microfilm Readers, I shall fear no Discouragment, for a Strong Urge is with me. The curiosity and Motivation, they Comfort me. It demandeth preparation of Storage Space for the Aquisition of Countless Documents. It annointeth my Head with burning Midnight Oil, My Family Group Sheets runneth over. Surely Birth, Marriage and Death dates shall follow me all the Days of my Life; and I shall dwell in the House of a Family History Seeker Forever.

Has anyone information on a ship builder in the Bellinger around the 1850's by the surname of ROBINSON. This name has surfaced in some research done by a colleague on ship builders of the area and as yet he keeps coming up with blanks. If anyone can help with the slightest bit of info it would be appreciated. Pioneer Register contributions are still trickling in. You still have to March next year to get your submissions in. If you have not received a confirmation of your submissions being received I will be sending out these confirmations before Christmas. Kind Regards Annette Mills
Does anyone know anything about Rosanna ROBINSON? In 1863 Rosanna's daughter Elizabeth BROCK married Abraham STANLEY in Grafton. Elizabeth was under-age and Rosanna gave her permission. Presumably Rosanna was earlier married to a Mr BROCK then married a Mr ROBINSON. I can find no record in NSW BDM of either of these occurances. Of course they could have happened in another State. In addition, it seems likely that Elizabeth BROCK was the daughter of Alexander and Mary BROCK who were married at St Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Sydney in 1837. It appears that they moved northwards after their marriage. Perhaps these names ring a bell with someone on the List? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. With thanks, Margery (in Gloucester)
As with most posters here I am researching my family. There are two strands that I am completely lost with. All I know is that both families came from Lismore. The first family I seek is that of Emma Maxwell...I believe she was born in 1855 at Richmond River. She married a James Brown in 1861 and had a number of children. Her parents may well have been James Maxwell and Eliza Atkinson. The second person (and as it turns out in nearly all cases) the most important one is a lady whose name was Rebecca Harris. She had a relationship with a Christopher Marriott. I can find no trace of any of her birth, death or marriage. Electoral rolls show a Rebecca Marriott as living in North Lismore between 1909 and 1917. I would be most grateful if anyone can throw any light at all on either of the above families. I can be contacted by e-mail at pasm1@iprimus.com.au Thanks to all Bill Park
Hi I am on the lookout for anyone that may be able to help with my research. The surnames I am interested in are: SCHAEFFER- I have already asked the Clarence River Historical Society for help. Hi Everyone I am searching for the HENDERSON family of Kelly's Plain and "Silverton" near Armidale. Another area mentioned is Hillgrove. Archibald HENDERSON and Christina CAMERON came to Australia on the ship "Rodney in 1854. They arrived from Scotland with six children: Flora (12) ,Catherine (10), Alexander (8), Archibald (6), Dugald (4) and Charles (1). They went to Marlee (near Wingham, NSW) and farmed near his sister and brother-in-law, Anne (Henderson) and Alexander Cameron. Alexander HENDERSON (4th child of Archibald and Christina Henderson) went to Armidale to farm. Alexander married Mary Anne CATTELL in Armidale in 1879. They had 10 children: Archibald, Thomas, Robert, Anne Jane, Alexander, William, Christina, John, Edward and Donald. Alexander HENDERSON (5th child of Alexander and Mary Anne Henderson) married Edith WATERS in 1915 and lived at "Silverton", Armidale. They had 7 children: Margaret, Mavis, Archibald, Leith, Clive, Beryl and Athol. Athol HENDERSON has contacted me recently and filled in this big jigsaw piece for me. He was chasing up where his grand-father lived at Marlee. He didn't find any Henderson's but he found my brother, who is a CAMERON, still on the Cameron Farm at Marlee. (Our family have been on this farm for 150 years). Athol now lives near Brisbane. Also looking for Thomas Colin HENDERSON (known as Colin) who lived in Macksville in 1994. He would have been about 80 in 1994. He used to visit the Cameron family and the Cross Family at Marlee many years ago. Any descendants know this name? Is there any descendants of Archibald HENDERSON and Christina CAMERON is these areas. Kind regards Heather
I wonder if Lesley BROWN from Coffs Harbour is on this list, or if anyone knows her? She is descended from Stephen WHITE from Hastings, Sussex, England. The e-mail address I have for her is not current, and some while since we were last in contact. I have tried looking at the white pages, but without an actual address is far from easy, as you can imagine. If anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated, as another descendant of Stephen's, would like to make the contact with her. Sincere regards, Frances in England.
Hi to all, Just a quick note to let everyone know that submissions for the Bellinger Pioneer Register have been coming in slowly, thank you to all those who have sent their submissions in. I have extended the contribution date to March 1st 2005 so that everyone can have a chance to get their family files in. For anyone who may not have been aware of this project you can still get forms and info sheets by emailing me at ampmmills@iprimus.com.au . Look forward to receiving your contributions. Regards Annette Mills
