Re: Tickle Family This may Tickle your memory. My wife was from Glen Innes and remembers that it was Albert Tickle (from there) who found Stephen Waugh in Uralla. He became famous as the "Little Boy Lost" Albert married Margaret McPhee from Glen Innes. John Tickle (brother) married Joan McClifty in Glen Innes and they had two children. Tickle (including a photo) is mentioned in The Beardies Heritage and no doubt copies would be in your local library. Albert had a soldier settlers block in Long Plain Inverell. And was our neighbour. He certainly was photographed with Stephen WALLS. This appeared in the Inverell Times newspaper and possibly a lot of other newspapers. Not certain that he was the particular searcher that found the boy. After his death in 1970 his wife LUCY (McPhee) retired to Inverell. Descendants still live in Inverell. He was born in Glen Innes in 1905 Two other Tickles born in Glen Innes served in WW2 according to the national Archives http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/recordsearch.html Happy hunting Glynis ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Cardiff" <cardiff@hotkey.net.au> To: <AUS-NSW-NEW-ENGLAND-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 19, 2005 12:02 PM Subject: Re: AUS-NSW-NEW-ENGLAND-D Digest V05 #196 > Re: Tickle Family > > This may Tickle your memory. > My wife was from Glen Innes and remembers that it was Albert Tickle (from > there) who found Stephen Waugh in Uralla.
